Update (Friday, April 6th): Apple later changed the Lion update to -002. They later revised the doc About Java for OS X Lion 2012-002 to say the -002 rev "fixed an issue that could affect users of the Xcode or Application Loader tools".

Again nothing for earlier OS X users I guess... but I can't remember the last time I enabled Java. (Unchecked Java in Safari, some browsers like Firefox have a Plugin to disable. Apps/Utils folder has a Java Prefs app to turn it off completely.)

Some sources claim over 550K Macs have been infected by the flashback trojan(s) that exploited java flaws. (Typically most don't know, but some were suspicious after seeing alerts from Little Snitch or AV software. Later variants are said to check for LS/AV software before installing.) There's threads on the Trojan(s) in apple's forums also, such as this one. Here's f-secure's earlier post on Mac Flashback, which is still evolving apparently. (Krebs also posted a related article on Wednesday.)
