More Cube OEM Radeon Cards at Ebay:
Dentech has their 4th Ebay auction of OEM Cube (fan model) Radeon cards. (Auction ends Dec-29-00 18:26:56 PST.) [link removed after auction ended] As noted in here previously, these ship without a bracket (Cube owners reuse the Rage128 Pro bracket) and drivers (which are available at ATI's drivers page). As noted here on Dec22nd, Apple started selling Tower (fanless) and Cube (fan model) Radeon graphics cards last week at the Apple store for $249 and this Dec 22nd news item noted that retail Radeon AGP cards (w/TV and Video out) are under $210 (about $180 after rebate) at Outpost. [Note: in 2001 Apple stopped selling the Radeon AGP cards as accessories.] As noted in my previous review of the retail Radeon card, it won't fit in the Cube however (too tall). To see how the OEM/BTO Radeon performance compares to the Rage128 Pro, see my BTO Radeon performance article.

Charismac Adds Firewire Drive Support to Anubis v3.18:
Charismac Engineering, Inc. announced the addition of native firewire support today to v3.18 of their Mac formatting utility Anubis. They say the new version includes a high performance native firewire device driver that supports virtually all fixed disk and removable firewire drives.
Charismac will be demonstrating the new Anubis Utility package from their booth (#4127) at next month's Macworld Expo.
Upgrades from previous versions of Anubis cost $29.95, and they offer a competitive upgrade to Anubis V3.18 from competing formatting utilities for the same price.

Driver (full version) Reader Comments:
A reader sent comments about the full game version of Driver. (Not sure if the Driver Demo Tips/Hacks work with the full version.)
"
I wanted to let you know that my Driver pre-order came in.
It is awesome.
The driving around the city levels are great, the main game, Undercover, is
a blast! Most of the levels (jobs) so far, seem to be get from point A to B in X amount of time, but even that is challenging and fun.
The Replay playback options are a hoot and really make the game fun for kids and adults. Had a great chase? Just save the replay so you can watch it again. You can also edit (direct really) the presentation of the replay choosing the camera view/angle/height and mode and even set up stationary cameras so you can catch that near miss, jump and mid-air collision from the
perfect vantage point. The controls don't come close to the ease of iMovie,
but work well enough once you figure them out. Alas they don't save out as
QT movies.
The graphics look as good as intended and are smooth on my Voodoo 5 and Rage 128 Pro cards.
I am very pleased with this purchase.
I told several coworkers about it and 2 said it was their favorite
playstation game, so they understood my eagerness to get home and play it some more.
I'll be sure to give you an update as I get further along in the game. Erik B.
"
I asked him where he bought the game.
