Epson Scanners/OS X Leopard reports/drivers page updated
I've updated (5 times today) the page on Canon Scanners w/OS X Leopard (notes on support, alternative (Twain SANE) drivers) with feedback from several Epson Perfection 2450 scanner owners running Leopard. Unlike the first reader today, later replies indicated they were able to use the 2450 in 10.5.1, although there were often some caveats noted. See page for details and notes (last updated 9PM.)

The Other News/Software Updates listing has also been updated again with new items.

Adaptec 29160 working in Leopard (w/scanner) using v1.20 drivers
Just another report of an Adaptec card working with a -scanner- in 10.5.1. For SCSI hard drive use, except for one 39160 owner using 2 drives OK, to date most said the drives mounted as Read Only (and attempts to format them showed permission denied). Some other 29160/29160N owners had reported errors trying to install the last (beta) driver in Leopard/10.5.1 (script error) - this reader said he installed the older 1.20 driver instead of the last 1.3beta (from Dec. 7th mail, just catching up):

"Hi Mike, Thought I'd send a quick note to let you know that I had absolutely no trouble at all getting my Adaptec 29160N SCSI card working on my G5 (2 x 2.5 GHz) running Leopard (10.5.1).

After doing a clean install of the OS last night, I updated to 10.5.1 using Software Update, and then installed the ancient 29160x driver (version 1.2.0). (Not the later 1.3beta from 2004. Here's the 29160 mac driver downloads page. For links to other adaptec card Mac driver pages see this previous post.)
I use the card to drive an Imacon scanner, and after the installation, the scanner was recognized and appears to be fully functional. Unfortunately I don't have any other SCSI devices to test, so I can't really comment beyond that, but as far as I'm concerned everything is working as it should be (and Apple System Profiler seems to agree).
...Happy holidays, and all the best in the New Year!
Gabe"

For those that had errors (script errors typically) installing the 1.3beta drivers in 10.5.1, let me know if you try the v1.20 (from 2002) drivers.
