QuickTime 7.6.9 Update w/security fixes for Leopard (and Windows)
Available via software update and www.apple.com/quicktime/download/. Here's a clip from the SU window (on a Mac running 10.5.8), although I prefer to use the d/l installers. (A restart is reqd after updating.)

"QuickTime 7.6.9 improves security and is recommended for all Mac OS X Leopard users.
(also released for Windows)
For information on the security content of this update, please visit this website: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222."

Here's the specific doc About the security content of QuickTime 7.6.9 that lists several fixes in this update for users of Mac OS X v10.5.8, Mac OS X Server v10.5.8, Windows 7, Vista and XP.

Another report on problems w/2009 Mac Pro's booting to Bootcamp Volumes w/SATA Cards Installed
Just a FYI that although it was thought that the bootrom version (B08 vs B07) was the reason for some 2009 Mac Pros not being able to boot to bootcamp/windows volumes with an SATA card installed (ref: July posts with Info on 2009 Mac Pros w/eSATA cards - problems booting to Windows/Bootamp Volume), recently a reader sent notes he's seen the opposite - his B07 bootrom mac pro has the problem, but not his B08 bootrom Mac Pro. He said he reported the problem to Apple and was hoping for a callback. (Earlier this year one reader said he was told they were working on a fix for that but I'm not holding my breath.)
As I mentioned earlier, I've never seen this problem with a B07 (spring 2009 shipped) Dual 2.66GHz 2009 Mac Pro using either a NewerTech 6G (non-PM/natively supported card version) or a Sil3132 based eSATA card installed. (Booting to separate internal HDs with Win7 Pro/64 and Vista Ult/64 works.)
If the bootrom version isn't the cause/factor, I'm not sure what is.
(If anyone with a 2010 Mac Pro has an SATA card installed and bootcamp volume(s), let me know if you've seen any issues booting to them.)

(Another) Reminder to Run Checksum/Corruption tests w/eSATA Cards (especially JMB360's)
I know regular readers are probably tired of seeing this warning, but had another MacBook Pro/JMB360 eSATA expresscard owner (this one running 10.6.5) write he didn't see the previous warnings (including a 'sticky' (red) on the expresscards page) about testing for data corruption before assuming all is OK. (He'd moved his iTunes folder to an external SATA drive and deleted the original before seeing the warning. Apparently had no other backup copy of it.) He later tried the DMG mount test (for example OS X Combo Updater) and found it failed the checksum test run before the dmg is mounted. (I'd run the test at least 10 times (copy DMG to eSATA HD, try to mount it, delete it and recopy/test again) - preferably more. And of course even 1 failure out of 100 is too many.)
I'm not sure the problem exists with pre-OS X 10.6, as I had already updated to 10.6 when I first used the eSATA expresscard (and reports on this in the last year were from SL/10.6.x users), but regardless of OS used, I'd check for this before using the card. (I never saw a failure with a SIL3132 card using several versions of the OS X driver for it, or when using the onboard FW800 or USB ports.)
