VGS still to go on sale? According to this reader comment Connectix's Virtual Game Station may still be available until there is an official ruling on the suit:
" In case you have not been notified already. Today's SF Chronicle's Business Section has an article on Connectix mentioning despite the Sony lawsuit Connectix is proceeding with selling VGS on their website by the end of February (need to confirm as I threw BS away, sorry) & VGS will also be available at stores by March. "

One reader just wrote he ordered it on Friday morning and said it was shipping on Feb 1st.

The Gaming News Page has a Sunday update with links to an interesting story on the history of 3Dfx, MythII/VoodooII feedback, a funny secret in Myth II, comments/review on Klingon Honor Guard and more. I'm hearing rumors that Voodoo3 Mac cards might be available direct from 3Dfx/STB. If this is true there should be good supplies available and perhaps prices could be on par with the PC models from day one. This would be a blessing for Mac Gaming and consumers to have the fastest 3Dfx card ever keep pace in price and availability with the PC version.

More Yosemite Slave IDE Drive Reports:

" Did my upgrade this evening. Everything went well. I used a Maxtor 10GB DiamondPlus. Master drive is a Quantum Fireball Ex 6GB. Thanks for your article on this subject.
Lenard Hood. "

" Hi Mike!
Just added the 8.4 Maxtor drive to the Yosemite according to your instructions. This drive is on sale on Comp USA for $179 but there is a $30 rebate that goes with it. It is not the "PLUS" model, but for someone looking for an inexpensive way to back up their Yosemite files. it sure looked good to me.
The jumper location for the "slave" option are slightly different from the one you showed for your drive [possibly due to a different drive model-Mike], but the accompanying company diagram is very easy to follow.
Many, many thanks for the "blow by blow" description on the proper way to add the drive.
Jim Stelljes "

Note: Many (Most?) modern IDE drives will show data corruption when used with the rev 1 B&W G3's IDE chip on the primary bus. (See the FAQ and Systems page rev 1 slave drive article for details and a data corruption tester.)

NT 4 PowerPC: A reader had asked if the PPC version of NT 4 would run on a Mac. I tried to respond but his email address bounced. There were comments here last year on this (NT 4 is the last PowerPC version to be done I hear). It does not work on the Mac according to reports, the PPC version was for IBM powerPC workstations only according to my information and feedback. I think Microsoft's knowledge base had something on this as well, and searching www.dejanews.com might also turn up info.

Make a Difference: Be the Difference
Randy Mita, Brad Lau and I came up with a new slogan and theme for Mac advocacy - "Make a Difference: Be the Difference". We're asking that all Mac owners take advantage of every opportunity to let others know the Mac advantage. It's a grass-roots approach that will surely help.
