Thursday's news had notes on a chinese forum post on Core2 Duo (Merom) 2.16GHz CPU swap in Mac Mini, including some other benchmarks vs a couple G5 Towers.

" An AGP or PCI Express graphics card compatible with Quartz Extreme, or Intel GMA integrated graphics processor in MacBook or Mac mini "

Glad they did that as despite the fact that Final Cut Pro 5.1 ran on MacBooks and Mac Minis (although Apple notes it's officially unsupported on them), some readers were leery of buying FCE until there was some 'official' word on MacBook/Mini compatibility.

Unfortunately AppleCare Germany seems to treat that as a standard case or they have absolutely no authority on their own. (they have to confer with Apple engineering lab every time I am talking to them) They promised to send a new MagSafe Adapter and they offered to have a look at the MacBookPro itself to "fix" the issue. But apparently they have no clue what the cause is.
No replacement, no apology.
I am more than disappointed."
