I wrote to ask them if there had been any temperature or other issues seen with 32GB ram in a Mac Pro and they replied "Nope - ran overnight with zero issues." OWC has also recently cut prices on the site specials page 4GB kit (2x2GB) for Mac Pros to $337.50.

| G4FanControl for Powerbook G4s, iBook G4 |
Eddie sent a note about G4FanControl being updated to add iBook G4 support. (Page is in Italian but down the page has English info/instructions)
"G4FanControl is a small utility that can be used to specify a certain minimum temperature limit that much be reached before the fans on a iBook/PowerBook G4 laptop start up (note: Apple sets the default temperature limit to 60°C on these units)
The G4FanControl utility is run out of Mac OS XĂs Terminal program and users need to be logged in as root. Default temperature limits will be restored by Mac OS X in the
event of a reboot.
Open the terminal and change the working directory to the directory that
contains g4fancontrol and type:
To set the new temperature limit:
sudo ./g4fancontrol set 20
To view the temperature stats:
sudo ./g4fancontrol stats"
I haven't tried this personally yet but if you have, let me know if you think it's useful.

| VirusScan 8.5 problems after recent Apple updates |
| I never installed any updates past Virex v7.2 but posting as a FYI in case others have seen this:
"Hi Mike, Just to let you and your readers know since updating QT 7.1.6, iTunes 7.2 & Sec Update 2007-005 Ver 1.0
on my G4 AGP 400 2GB Ram, 10.4.9, 1.5GHz Giga Design equipped mac, running VirusScan 8.5 crashes on restart
re-installing 8.5 works until your restart.
So back to Virex 7.7 problem solved.
