"I have a dual G4 533 Digital Audio powermac. I installed an "ASUS PCI-USB2 Rev 1.03" PCI card in the machine to get faster transfers to my iPod Nano and Canon sd500 digital camera. The card has an NEC chip with id numbers "D720100AS1 / 0201KU267". As expected, the card works at USB 2.0 speeds without installing a driver on OS X 10.4.2.
When nothing is connected to the card, the mac has no trouble going into deep sleep. if I leave the iPod connected and mounted and put the mac to sleep, the monitor goes off but not the power supply fan. The mac can then no longer wake up and I have to push the reset button to get it to respond again. The machine has no other pci cards installed. let me know if you want a photo of the card.
