• (Apr. 25, 2012) Pioneer BDP-51FD page has Firmware Update 1.73.
  Change notes say: "Enhances stability of BD-ROM/BD-R/BD-RE playback".
  (Kudos to Pioneer for still updating old models. I paid $80 for a local store display one years ago - 2008 I think. (No box/manual or Power cord, just player and remote. But never used and still like new. Made in Japan also.) Original MSRP was $599.)
  I'm still running v1.72 from fall 2011 but burned the 1.73 ISO to a CDR and will update if I see any issues.
