KingPin Coming to the Mac? A reader post in my forum notes that Gangland.org's FAQ says that a Mac version for controversial (adult language and theme) version of the new Quake 2 engine based Kingpin - life of crime game is due out soon. [Update: - Based on reader/industry comments this apparently is not true so don't count on it.] You have the option to install a 'toned-down' version of the game for those that are offended by the language, etc. of the adult install. Kingpin does things with the Quake 2 engine that many didn't think was possible, including 32-bit color, rain, sprite effects, environment mapping and more. Here are some screenshots taken from a Voodoo3 3000 card running on a Pentium III 500 system. Clicking on the screens below loads a full 800x600 image; if they appear too dark on your monitor try the brighter PC gamma version links.

For those that are wondering about the 'Punisher' logo on this page, that was from my 'Casualties of War' Doom II levels page posted online back in 1995. Not much time for games in the last two years since starting this site so now I'd be more like 'the punished' in network play ;-).
