Tip for can't connect to gmail after 10.10.4 update (check "Automatically detect & maintain account settings" in Mail Prefs/Accounts/Google Mail/Advanced. Tip from Geoff R. that helped several others also.)
You may want to disconnect any unnecessary external drives/devices before updating. (A WD MyBook owner that had installed WD's software previously noted major problems.)
Mac EFI Security Update 2015-001 for OS X 10.8.5/10.9.5 (105.4 MB)
"Improves security of Mac systems by addressing an issue where EFI could potentially be overwritten without authorization."
Related Docs on security fixes in these updates were posted earlier below. The article on Security Update 2015-005 also lists the (2) fixes in Mac EFI Security Update 2015-001 but only the Mac EFI Security Update actually updates the bootrom version. Macs that get the bootrom update per the revised EFI version listing are Early 2011 to Mid 2014 MacBook Pro, Mid 2011 to Mid 2014 MacBook Air, Mid 2011 to Mid 2014 iMac, Mid 2011 to Late 2014 Mac Mini and Late 2013 Mac Pro.
Users of Nvidia's web graphics drivers should check for updates via Nvidia's prefs panel, as the security updates for 10.8.5 and 10.9.5 change the OS X build number. And of course OS X 10.10.4 will need an update also (the previous release will not load in 10.10.4, instead using the default apple provided driver). As I see updates posted I'll add them to the graphics card topics page.
Of course make sure you have current backups before applying any updates and some apps/addons may need updating for compatibility. (See above for later posted links to D/L pages.)
BTW: Security Update 2015-005 also lists the fixes in Mac EFI Security Update 2015-001, but just applying Security Update 2015-005 on a 2012 Mac Mini (restart required) didn't update the Bootrom. (Version checked in system info.) I then installed Mac EFI Security Update 2015-001 which did flash the bootrom (progress bar shown at restart). Bootrom version was MM61.0106.B03 before update, and MM61.0106.B08 after. (See revised EFI updates listing for other macs that get the update and their bootrom version after the update.)
