Info on security fixes in today's Apple support articles listing.
Some users posts in Apple's forums have noted the "mach_kernel" file is visible in the root of the OS X volume after this update. (This happened before after an update, normally the file is hidden. This apple doc about OS X: mach_kernel visible in the Finder includes info on using the terminal to make it invisible again - sudo chflags hidden /mach_kernel.) Not sure how common they are but some have also noted problems after the update (wifi/network and mail for instance). FYI: This update changes the OS X Build number, which Nvidia's driver updates key on. (For example their 10.10.2 driver update for build 14C109.) I frequently check Nvidia's site for updates but they may appear sooner via the Nvidia driver prefs panel. (See below for new Nvidia driver updates.)
If you have problems booting after the security update (nvidia drivers don't load), resetting the NVRAM will clear Nvidia's prefs driver setting (revert to using default OS X drivers, as well as clearing some other settings including startup disk), however if the card is not supported with the standard drivers you'd still need to use an apple supported card. (Supported model cards w/o mac EFI show no video until drivers are loaded.) Hopefully affected users have an apple supported card around, even if only a low end model. (And also a good reason to have a verified bootable clone of your working OS X install.)
