Seagate GoFlex 2TB Disassembly Pics
Posted: May 24th, 2010
(from a reader mail)
I took apart my new Seagate GoFlex 2tb drive since I could not find the rotational speed of the drive listed anywhere on the internet. Disassembling the enclosure confirms that Seagate is using its 5900rpm drive in this product. It would be very difficult to open the enclosure without scuffing it in some way.
The Seagate dock that it comes with has a typical SATA+power connection, so the dock can be used with any bare hard drive, 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch. The included Seagate power supply is a wall wart rated at 12v/2A, and is physically small compared to the power supplies that come with most enclosures.
I have included some pictures of the Seagate drive.
