Apple releases Security Update 2011-003 (re: Mac Malware)
Here's the info from Software Update in Snow Leopard (10.6.7):

"Security Update 2011-003 (2.1MB) is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X.
For information on the security content of this update, please visit this website: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222."

HT1222 is Apple's main security updates page (nothing there yet as I'm posting this) - here's the page with details About Security Update 2011-003, which includes links to another doc on Mac OS X Snow Leopard and malware detection that has info on changes after the update is applied, such as daily updates to a "safe downloads list" (unsafe list might be more accurate) - the Security Prefs Pane now has a (enabled by default) option "Automatically update safe downloads list". Here's a clip from that doc:

"...Files downloaded via applications such as Safari, iChat, and Mail are checked for safety at the time that they are opened. If a file is identified as containing known malware, the system will display a dialog that alerts you to move it to the Trash. You should empty the Trash to finalize the removal of the file....

Apple maintains a list of known malicious software that is used during the safe download check to determine if a file contains malicious software. The list is stored locally, and with Security Update 2011-003 is updated daily by a background process.

If you do not wish to receive these updates, you can disable daily update by unchecking "Automatically update safe downloads list" in the Security pane, in System Preferences. This option appears in Security preferences after Security Update 2011-003 is installed."

Here's the download page for Security Update 2011-003 (Snow Leopard).
I didn't see any update (yet at least) for earlier OS X versions. (Nothing seen yet in SU for 10.5.8 today.)
FYI: The ping-pong match continues - within 8hrs of this update the malware had been revised with a different signature. Also Intego reported a bug in the new security prefs - if you unlock it and wait for more than 30 seconds, any changes made will not be saved.

MacBook Bottom Case Replacement Program:
(From the Apple doc on the Bottom Case Replacement Program)

"Apple has determined that under certain circumstances the rubber surface on some MacBooks may separate from the bottom case of the system. MacBooks shipped between October 2009 and April 2011 may experience this issue.
Apple will replace the bottom case of any affected MacBook, free of charge, that exhibits the issue.

Bottom Case Replacement Process:
You may choose from three options to get a replacement bottom case for your MacBook. In all cases, your MacBook serial number will be checked to verify that it is eligible for this program.

    Assisted service
  • Visit an Apple Retail Store - Set up an appointment with a Genius.
  • Visit an Apple Authorized Service Provider - Find one here.

    Self service
  • Order a replacement bottom case kit online.
  • You will receive a kit that includes a new bottom case, screws, a Phillips head screwdriver, and instructions for how to remove the current bottom case and install the new one.
  • If you feel comfortable with the self-service option, you can place your order via the web.

Additional Information
If you believe you have paid for a repair or replacement due to this issue, contact Apple regarding a refund."
